MATTHEW GRAY, COMPANY MANAGER

SInce 2003, Matthew Gray has assisted in the development of new opera at American Opera Projects through everything from production managing to dramaturgy to marketing to graphic and web design and everything else in between, all under the rubric of Company Manager.

His multi-faceted nature also extends outside of AOP to writing, directing, acting and theatrical and film producing. He is the co-creator of the 12-part serialized play Penny Dreadful produced by the Brick Theater in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Recent NY performances include Mad Forest (nominated for Best Ensemble, NY Innovative Theatre Awards), The Sinister Urge, Orgy of the Dead (Do What Now Media); World Gone Wrong (Gemini CollisionWorks); Nevada Territory, Antony and Cleopatra, The Fugitive Girls, Bitch Macbeth (DM Theatrics); Dangerous Liaisons (Wilde Mule Prod.). A BFA graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts in directing, Matthew most recently directed and co-wrote the play Stand Clear for the downtown arts festival The Fall Collection.
